About this tool

What does Add Border / Frame do?

Add Border / Frame expands the canvas around an image and draws a configurable decorative edge. Choose a simple solid border, double line, gradient frame, drop-shadow mount or Polaroid-style bottom margin. Padding, thickness, color and corner controls make it suitable for social posts, print previews and product images.

Understand the result

How to read and refine the output

Padding creates breathing space between the photo and outer edge, while thickness controls the visible frame line. Polaroid mode intentionally reserves more room below the image for a caption.

Practical advice

Tips for better results

  • Match frame color to a dominant image tone.
  • Use subtle shadows for product photos.
  • Leave extra padding for print trimming.
  • Avoid oversized frames on small source images.

Important limitations

What this tool cannot guarantee

The frame becomes part of the flattened output image. Decorative styles are generated by canvas and are not editable as separate vector layers after download.
