What information can a browser detect?
A web browser can report broad system capabilities, but it normally cannot reveal exact CPU model, exact RAM amount, serial numbers, installed applications or detailed operating-system hardware inventory. This tool labels estimates and unavailable values honestly.
- Browser and locale values come from standard JavaScript and Client Hints APIs.
- Storage and memory values are privacy-preserving estimates, not diagnostic-grade measurements.
- Public IP and approximate network information are requested through the OceanofTools same-origin network endpoint.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can this tool show my exact computer model?
Usually no. Browsers intentionally expose limited hardware details to protect privacy.
Why is memory shown as an estimate?
The Device Memory API returns a rounded value and is not supported in every browser.
Does the scan install anything?
No. It uses browser APIs and does not require an extension or download.
