Geolocation Permission Tester tool
Your browser will ask for permission before sharing coordinates.
How browser geolocation works
The browser may use GPS, nearby Wi-Fi networks, cellular signals or IP-based estimates. You stay in control because coordinates are requested only after pressing the button and granting permission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is browser geolocation always GPS-based?
No. The device may combine GPS, Wi-Fi, cellular and network estimates.
Why is the accuracy number large?
Indoor use, disabled precise-location settings or weak satellite and network signals can reduce accuracy.
Are my coordinates uploaded to OceanofTools?
No. The page displays them locally. Opening the optional map link sends the coordinates to OpenStreetMap in a new tab.
